Man accused of taking photo up woman's skirt in Miami Dollar Store

Damian Macascordova, 31, claims he dropped phone, police say

MIAMI – A man was arrested Wednesday on a video voyeurism charge after he put his cellphone up a woman's skirt and took a photo, authorities said.

According to an arrest report, the victim was squatting down to reach an item in the Easter section of a Dollar Store at 5820 NW 183rd St. when she felt a tug on her long skirt.

Police said the woman turned around and saw a man yelling at Damian Macascordova, who had just taken a photo up the woman's skirt.

The witness said he asked Macascordova, 31, what he was doing and Macascordova said, "Why you tripping?"

Police said the witness saw Macascordova lift the victim's skirt and slip his hand that was holding his phone under it.

The witness said he then saw a flash coming from the phone, so he immediately confronted the suspect.

Police said the witness continued to yell at Macascordova, who walked away but was followed out of the store by the witness and victim.

Police said the witness and victim followed Macascordova to his home nearby and parked their cars at the corner Northwest 173rd Street and 52nd Place while they waited for police to come.

Officers arrested Macascordova at his home. They said he claimed that he simply dropped the phone near the woman and the flash went off, but he never took a photo of her.
