6 rescued from sinking boat near Elliot Key

Coast Guard and National Park Service worked together to rescue boaters

ELLIOT KEY, Fla. – Six people were rescued near Elliot Key Thursday after their boat took on water about two miles from shore, the United States Coast Guard reports.

The Coast Guard, with the assistance of the National Park Service worked together to help the boaters at about 4 p.m.

All those on the boat are said to be doing well following the rescue. 

The boat was towed by a commercial salvage company to Black Point Marina.
