Tampa police officer shot, police say
Officer wounded, man killed in drivers' dispute
TAMPA, Fla. – A Tampa Police Department police officer, who was wearing a bullet-proof vest, was wounded during a shooting Saturday afternoon, police said.
The department's Twitter account reported the officer was conscious and breathing on his own.
Tampa Police Department's spokesperson Andrea Davis said the shooting was about 4:30 p.m., and two were shot. One died.
The officer was wounded, after he discharged his weapon.
A driver told police he saw two drivers involved in an altercation that involved shots fired.
The drivers stopped at a Hyatt Place hotel parking lot, police said. The officer followed them.
Witnesses were at a nearby Sunoco gas station and the Yuengling Beer Company Of Tampa,11111 N 30th St.
