Cedatavius Young is accused of shooting into a crowd of people, nearly killing a victim who was struck by one of the bullets.

DORAL, Fla. ā€“ A teenager faces a charge of second-degree attempted murder after he shot into a crowd of people last month in southwest Miami-Dade County, police said.

Cedatavius Young, 17, was arrested Monday by Miami-Dade police.

According to an arrest affidavit, Young fired into a crowd of people on Southwest 111th Avenue between Southwest 217th and Southwest 218th streets on March 26.

Police said Young fired about seven shots.

"The victim was struck in the pelvic area and nearly died as a result of the gunshot wound," the affidavit said.

A witness later identified Young as the shooter.

Young also faces charges of using a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a minor.

The victim's identity wasn't known. A motive for the shooting was not revealed.
