Man found shot to death inside car in Fort Lauderdale, police say

2 men ran away from scene, according to detectives


FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Police are searching for two men believed to be involved in the fatal shooting of another man in Fort Lauderdale, authorities said.

The shooting was reported shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 2400 block of Northwest 22nd Street.

Police said the victim, Gary Martin, 52, was inside his car with two other men when an altercation ensued.

Police said Martin was shot multiple times and the two men ran away.

Martin was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, the gunmen ran east from the parking lot, shedding their clothing as they ran.

A motive is unclear.
