2 men plead guilty to 2012 murder, attempted murder case

Dominic Steven sentenced to 25 years, Lorenzo Anderson, sentenced to 35 years


MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Two men plead guilty earlier this week to the murder of Anthony Blanding and attempted murder of Thaddeus Surrency on Halloween 2012.

Dominic Steven, 24, and Lorenzo Anderson, 24, shot the two men at 95 St. NW 20 Ave., the Miami Dade Police Department said.

When officers arrived to the scene Blanding was found dead and Surrency was transferred to the Ryder Trauma Center after being shot.

Steven and Anderson were arrested in November 2012 and charged after detailing their involvement in the homicide.

On Tuesday, Dominic was sentenced to 25 years for second-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

On Wednesday, Anderson was sentenced to 35 years for second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
