Police say Junior Barquin shot Norian Pino to settle dispute involving woman

HIALEAH, Fla. – A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man behind a Hialeah motel.

Junior Barquin and Jacqueline Cabeza were arrested Sunday night on charges of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Noarian Pino.

Hialeah police Sgt. Carl Zogby said Barquin shot and killed Pino during an argument Saturday night behind the Rainbow Motel.

According to arrest reports, Barquin and Cabeza met with Pino to settle a prior argument involving Cabeza.

A witness told police that Barquin pulled out a gun and shot Pino twice. Shortly before the shooting, the witness, who was aware of the argument between Pino and Cabeza, told police that Barquin told him, "I'm not going to fight him. I'm going to kill him."

Police said Barquin and Cabeza ran away after the shooting.

Zogby said Cabeza faces a murder charge because of her direct involvement in the crime.
