PINECREST, Fla. – A day after issuing an alligator warning to residents, the Pinecrest Police Department announced it had captured one of the large animals.
The 7-and-a-half foot alligator was caught in the 7100 block of 133rd Street on Wednesday morning.
Pinecrest police sent out a picture of the alligator on its Facebook page.
Tuesday, the department sent out an alert to Pinecrest residents after a homeowner noticed an alligator in their backyard.
The alligator capture on Wednesday was on the shore near a canal.
Police say that a licensed animal catcher is now attempting to catch a second alligator that was spotted on Tuesday evening.
