People accused of killing 81-year-old woman might be in Florida, authorities say

HANCOCK, Md. – The Washington County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man and a woman accused in the killing of an 81-year-old woman.

Authorities believe Crystal Dawn Stanley, 39, and Jerry Wayne Smith Jr., 42, might be traveling through South Carolina, Georgia or Florida.

According to detectives, deputies were called to a home in Hancock, Maryland, about 9:15 p.m. Friday after family members found the body of Margaret Rose McAllister inside her home.

An autopsy was performed the next day, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore ruled McAllister's death a homicide.

The Sheriff's Office has obtained arrest warrants for Stanley and Smith, who both face charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault and second-degree assault.
