MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A 74-year-old man was pulled from the water on Friday off South Beach, police said.
Witnesses said the man was floating face down for a while.
"Someone pulled him in finally and they did CPR," Ana Tenover said. "It didn't look like he was going to unfortunately make it."
A paramedic was performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, before they placed the man into an ambulance.
Miami Beach police officers said rescue took the man to Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he remained at the intensive care unit on Friday evening.
Correction: A previous version of the story identified the victim as a 55-year-old. Authorities later reported the victim was 74.
