At least 5 burglars involved in cellphone theft at Hollywood store

Thieves steal about $50,000 worth of cellphones, police say

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Hollywood police are searching for at least five people who were involved in a burglary last week at a cellphone store.

The burglary was reported about 2 a.m. Friday at a store in the 3400 block of North 29th Avenue.

Police said the masked thieves entered the business by breaking a hole in the wall of an unoccupied office.

Surveillance video shows three of the thieves laying a blanket on the floor and placing cellphones on the blanket.

Police said they picked up the blanket and walked out the store's front door.

A fourth person is seen getting out of a getaway vehicle and helping the group put the stolen cellphones into the van.

Police said about $50,000 worth of cellphones were stolen.

The burglars are believed to have left in a 2011 Toyota Sienna.
