MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was injured in a crash that was caught on cellphone video Tuesday night in northwest Miami-Dade County.
Bystanders and an officer tended to Tecean Phen, 81, who was bleeding in the middle of road after being struck by a vehicle.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took the man to Jackson Memorial Hospital as police tried to piece together what happened on Northwest Seventh Avenue near Little River Drive.
Velma Royal said she clipped the man with the side of her SUV.
It's unclear if the man was trying to cross the road when he was struck. He appeared to be breathing and moaning as first responders worked on him.
Phen was listed in critical condition at the hospital.
Police initially thought the man was injured in a hit-and-run crash, but they later learned that the driver remained at the scene.
