Twin-engine Piper plane crashed shortly after 4 p.m., airport officials say

BIMINI, Bahamas – Two people died Sunday in a plane crash in Bimini, Bahamas.

A South Bimini Airport officials told Local 10 News that a twin-engine Piper plane crashed shortly after 4 p.m.

The two people who were on board are believed to have been an airline mechanic from New Providence and a pilot from Major's Air.

The investigation into the crash is now underway.

No other details were immediately released.
