MIAMI – A man and a woman fell off a drawbridge Thursday night in Miami.
Miami Department of Fire-Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said the couple, both in their 60s, fell off the 27th Avenue drawbridge just before 9 p.m.

Witnesses said they saw the couple falling as the drawbridge was being raised.
Carroll said the man was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center with serious injuries to his legs. The woman was treated for minor scratches but declined further treatment.
It isn't known why they were on the bridge while it was moving or whether they ignored the warning signals.
