Man killed in Pompano Beach motorcycle crash

Driver hit median while speeding around curve, police say

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A 25-year-old man was killed Sunday in a motorcycle crash in Pompano Beach.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies said the 2001 black Suzuki GSXR-600 motorcycle was speeding southbound on North Andrews Avenue at 6:15 a.m. when the driver failed to negotiate a curve near Northwest 15th Avenue.

The man's motorcycle hit the median, and he and his passenger, Manuel Dominguez-Hakon, 22, were thrown from the bike.

The Pompano Beach man driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Dominguez-Hakon was taken to Broward Health North. He is expected to survive his injuries.

Traffic homicide detectives continue to investigate the incident.
