Man uses same method to rob Walgreens stores in Broward

Armed robberies caught on surveillance video

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Broward Sheriff's Office robbery detectives are trying to identify a man who committed a series of nearly identical armed robberies at four Walgreens stores in June.

The same man is believed to be responsible for all four robberies -- June 11 in Plantation, June 21 in Lauderdale Lakes, June 22 in Oakland Park and June 25 in Tamarac.

BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter said in each robbery, the man selected an item and walked up to the cashier as if to pay. But once the employee opened the register, the man pushed the cashier aside, reached over the counter and grabbed handfuls of cash.

Security video captured the robberies.

Carter said the man may have been driving an older-model dark green Toyota Corolla with an exhaust pipe that is hanging loose.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
