Man, 2 women wounded in I-295 shooting in Washington

Victims shot from another vehicle

WASHINGTON – A man and two women were shot and wounded while riding in a van on Interstate 295 in Washington.

Police said the shooting occurred Sunday morning as the van traveled northbound. The man was unconscious and the women were conscious when police responded.

Police spokeswoman Karimah Bilal said they may have been shot from another vehicle, but investigators don't currently have a motive. Authorities do not have any suspects in the case.

Bilal said Monday that the man who was shot is in critical condition and one of the women is still hospitalized, but expected to survive.  She says the second woman was released from the hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
