2 juveniles accused of burglarizing Rent-A-Center in Pompano Beach

Suspects also accused in several burglaries throughout Broward County

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Two juveniles were arrested early Monday after they broke into a Rent-A-Center in Pompano Beach, authorities said.

Broward Sheriff's Office Deputy Peter Sepot was conducting overnight surveillance near the business at 11 S. Pompano Parkway because of numerous reported burglaries and attempted burglaries of businesses in the area.

Sepot said he saw the two burglars just after 2 a.m. throwing a rock through the business' window and leaving with three laptops.

The suspected thieves were taken into custody a short time later with the help of additional deputies, K-9 units and a BSO helicopter.

Deputies said the suspects confessed to several other burglaries in the area.

According to BSO spokeswoman Gina Carter, the suspects are responsible for the Wednesday burglary of Star Nails at 2663 W. Atlantic Blvd. in Pompano Beach.

Carter said the juveniles and three other people used a rock to smash the front glass door and stole four televisions and hundreds of dollars in cash.
