Woman shot, pistol-whipped for gold necklace in Miramar

Armed robbery reported July 17 on Monarch Lakes Boulevard


MIRAMAR, Fla. – A woman who was jogging in Miramar a couple weeks ago was pistol-whipped and shot three times during a robbery, police said.

The incident was reported about 10 a.m. July 17 on Monarch Lakes Boulevard.

Police said the jogger was approached by a man who got out of a nearby car and he demanded her gold necklace.

When the woman resisted, the man struck her in the face with a handgun and shot her three times, police said.

He was last seen leaving the area in a car that was being driven by another person.

The robber is described as a black man in his early 20s with a medium complexion. He is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, has a slender build, short Afro and facial hair.
