North Hills Drive in Hollywood reopens after suspicious package deemed safe

Bomb squad called to investigate package


HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A suspicious package briefly shut down a portion of North Hills Drive Thursday morning in Hollywood, authorities said.

Police said the road was closed from North 46th Avenue and 38th Avenue.

Sky 10 was above the scene shortly after 11 a.m. and saw Hollywood police and the Broward Sheriff's Office bomb squad in the area.

A robot was brought in to inspect the package.

The road was reopened just before 11:30 a.m. after the package was deemed not to be dangerous.
