Alaskans break world fist-bumping record

Event raises awareness about homelessness

(LAKANA) – A chain of 300 people in Alaska have broken a world record for fist-bumping at an event intending to raise awareness about homelessness.

A Guinness World Records judge was on hand to make sure every fist bump connected, The Associated Press reports.

The event was organized by United Way of Anchorage. Participants included the mayor and Alaska's first lady.

The previous record was a chain of 250 people.
