HIALEAH, Fla. – Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration denied an assisted living facility in Miami-Dade County a license renewal.

Officials terminated Nuevitas Home for the Elderly, 675 E. 31 St., in Hialeah, enrollment in the Medicaid and Medicare program, the agency announced Friday.

Officials also reported the business to the federal government for placement on the federal exclusion list, which prohibits them from participating in Medicaid and Medicare nationwide.
