Police: Robbers armed with guns, baseball bats steal victims' jewelry

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A woman was arrested this month after meeting two men at a Booby Trap strip club and then setting them up to be robbed at a motel, police said.

According to an arrest report, Cristina Serrano, 27, of Hialeah, met the victims at the nightclub July 21 and agreed to go with them to the Executive Airport Hotel at 6700 NW 12th St. to have sex with them for money.

Police said the trio were hanging in the pool area of the room, when Serrano got up and said that she was going to make herself a drink.

Instead, she unlocked the door and Carlos Gonzalez, 25, of Hialeah, and another person entered the room, armed with guns and baseball bats, the report said.

Police said Gonzalez struck one victim while the other person robbed the other man.

The victim who was robbed first said he looked over at his friend being struck and immediately recognized Gonzalez.

Police said Gonzalez struck that man with a bat on his left forearm.

The robbers stole one of the victim's chain and rings and both of the men's watches, police said.

The three culprits then left the motel in the same car, the report said.

Serrano was arrested Aug. 1 and Gonzalez was arrested on Tuesday.

Police said Serrano admitted to being in possession of one of the victim's watches, but said she had "gotten rid of it."

Police said she also admitted to cutting up one of the men's IDs.

Gonzalez denied being involved in the robbery, police said.

Both suspects face charges of armed robbery with a deadly weapon. The third person involved in the robbery has not been identified.

Anyone with information about that person's identity is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
