Car crashes into woman's recently purchased Homestead house
2 men inside stolen car arrested
HOMESTEAD, Fla. – A stolen car crashed into a Homestead house Thursday morning.
The car crashed through the front of the house at 1710 NW Eighth Ave., but two women who were inside were not injured.
Police said officers were conducting surveillance when they spotted the stolen car and tried to stop it. Police said the driver of the car lost control and crashed into the house after a short chase.
The driver was identified by police as Roberto Aldama, 18. His passenger was identified as Oscar Guarjardo, 19.
Police said both men tried to run away, but they were caught and arrested.
Carmen Goodman, who lives in the home, told Local 10 News that she purchased the house in May. Goodman said the impact pushed her sofa into the hall.
"Everything is destroyed," Goodman said.
A city inspector told Goodman that the home is salvageable.
