MIAMI – A City of Miami police officer stopped the driver of a stolen car early Saturday morning.

Brayan Reyes, 18, of Lehigh Acres, was driving the car, according to police. And a 16-year-old girl from Miami's East Little Havana neighborhood was his passenger.

A Miami gang unit detective recognized the duo as the suspects wanted in several vehicle burglaries in Coral Gables during the Labor Day Weekend.

"Detectives with the Coral Gables Police Department responded and interviewed the two subjects who confessed to the vehicle burglaries," Sgt. Tomas Salcedo said.

The teens were accused of targeting cars on Capri, Monterey, Pizzarro, Cordova and Wallace streets.

Reyes faces two counts of vehicle burglary and one count of trespassing to a conveyance. The girl was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, trespass to a conveyance and six counts of vehicle burglary.
