Boy, 7, found at bottom of Miami hotel swimming pool

Boy found without pulse at Four Ambassadors in Brickell

MIAMI – Doctors are working to stabilize a 7-year-old boy found Sunday night at the bottom of a Miami hotel's swimming pool.

Miami Department of Fire-Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said firefighters were dispatched to the Four Ambassadors in Brickell, where they found the boy without a pulse.

Dispatch was on the phone instructing people to perform CPR until fire rescue arrived minutes later.

Authorities said it's unclear how the boy ended up at the bottom of the pool or who was supervising him, but witnesses told Local 10 News that a group of people were having a late-night barbeque when the incident happened.

Carroll said the boy's family was visiting friends at the Four Ambassadors.

Rescuers managed to revive the child, but he lost his pulse a second time while en route to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center.

Authorities said paramedics worked on the child all the way to the hospital, where doctors took over to get and maintain a pulse.

The boy at last check was stabilized at the hospital.

The child's identity has not been released.
