A woman in Washington, D.C. was arrested for stealing french fries from a police officer.

WTTG reports the dastardly deed occurred Wednesday when two reportedly intoxicated women sat next to the officer inside the Italian Kitchen restaurant.

According to the police report, one of the women reached over and grabbed a fry from the officer's plate.

When the woman went in for a second fry, the officer asked her to stop.

"I then politely asked D-1 to not do that again because I paid for that food and she was stealing from me and she could be arrested for theft of my food," the officer wrote in his report.

The woman replied that the officer may as well take her to jail, and then went in for a third french fry.

The officer then arrested the woman on second-degree theft charges.

WUSA claims the police report listed the property stolen as "French fried potato.  Quantity: Three."
