Man dies after bus stop shooting in Pembroke Park

Victim shot during apparent robbery, deputies say

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – A man was killed Monday afternoon during an apparent robbery in Pembroke Park, authorities said.

Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said deputies were called to a bus stop just after 1 p.m. in the 5400 block of West Hallandale Beach Boulevard about a robbery.

Concepcion said the victim was shot during an altercation and was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital.

The victim, identified as Luis Rodriguez, 56, died at the hospital.

Homicide and crime scene detectives are investigating.

Detectives said the gunman ran away after the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Zack Scott at 954-321-4210 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
