Deputies involved in fatal shooting of Pompano Beach man identified

Both men hired by BSO in 2015

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Two Broward sheriff's deputies involved in the fatal shooting of a man in Pompano Beach last month were identified Tuesday as Zachary Hasson, 22, and Andre Landells, 26.

The shooting was reported Sept. 9 at a home in the 300 block of Northwest 14th Street.

Authorities said the deputies were called to the home just before 10 p.m. about a domestic disturbance involving a man with a knife.

Authorities said the deputies were directed to the backyard, where they were confronted by Gregory Frazier, 55, who was holding a knife.

Authorities said both deputies fired their weapons, killing Frazier.

Both deputies remain on administrative leave while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigates the shooting.

Both deputies were hired last year by the BSO.
