73-year-old man with dementia returns home in Pembroke Pines

After vanishing for hours, police say Serge Julien is safe

PEMBROKE PINES – Serge Julien suffers from dementia, a heart condition and is vision impaired in his left eye, his family told police. They waited in anguish and were overjoyed when he returned home late Friday night.

After an argument with his wife, the 73-year-old retiree walked away from  his home in Pembroke Pines. His family told police they haven't seen him since Friday afternoon.

Sgt. Darryl Curtis said Julien -- who is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds -- was wearing a beige long sleeve shirt with beige pants and brown shoes.

Police were asking the public for help. Curtis said anyone with information on his disappearance or whereabouts should call police immediately.
