Driver suffers serious injuries after crashing pickup truck

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. ā€“ A man was arrested Saturday after he shot at multiple vehicles inside a Hollywood neighborhood, police said.

Witnesses told Local 10 News reporter Sanela Sabovic that the suspect shot about 12 vehicles in the area of Garfield Street and 64th Avenue.

Miami Gardens police said they were called to the area at 10:13 a.m. and found two vehicles that had been struck by bullets.

A woman who lives in the area said her husband's white Kia was one of the vehicles shot at.

Witnesses said someone driving a red pickup truck lost control of their vehicle after the suspect began firing at random vehicles and crashed into a tree.

Police said the driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital.

The suspect ran into a nearby home and was eventually taken into custody by officers, police said.

His identity was not immediately released.

The firearm was recovered by police.

A motive for the shooting is unknown.
