Harmony of the Seas Godmother chosen

FORT LAUDERDALE – The Harmony of the Seas just made its maiden voyage to south Florida. It is the largest cruise ship on the planet. And it is based right here in Fort Lauderdale.

The ship chose a Godmother to watch over her: Brittany Affolter, a Miami Dade educator who was chosen for the rule during a contest on Local 10. She was selected from 1,000 candidates, and she will be sailing on this debut cruise.

At 1188 ft. long, Harmony of the Seas, if turned upright, is taller than the Eiffel tower. It boasts seven neighborhoods, including Central Park with 12,000 plants and trees. Nearly 6,800 guests can stroll the boardwalk to shop and dine at 20 different restaurants.
