Chase suspect run over by own car

PASCO, Wash. – You can run, but you can't hide was never so true for one crime suspect attempting to escape police.

The suspect, Brandon Arrieta, 20, was trying to get out of a moving car in Pasco, Washington when he got run over by the same exact car.

The Pasco Police Department shared video of Arrieta's hijinks on Facebook. A sergeant had attempted to pull Arrieta over on Sunday following a previous crash in which he drove a stolen car into a building.

The video shows Arrieta leading police on a chase through a neighborhood when one of the car's tires went flat.

When Arrieta tries to jump out, his sleeve gets caught in the car, causing him to fall in front.

The car reportedly dragged Arrieta about one car length before police were able to rescue him.

Arrieta was not physically injured, but his arrest record now shows charges of vehicle theft and eluding.
