PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Ever wonder how hospitals handle health emergencies such as Zika?

The Memorial Health Systems sets to tackle that question Thursday as part of its lecture series.

The hospital system's former CEO and president Frank Sacco will be honored at the event dubbed "From AIDS to Zika: Balancing Public Health Emergencies and Patient Centered Care." 

The event is free and will take place at 5 p.m. in the Broward College Judson A. Samuels South Campus Performing and Cultural Arts Theatre, 7200 Pines Blvd. 

Palnelists for the event include Dr. Paual Thaqi, director of the Florida Department of Health; Kimarie Stratos, senior vice president and general counsel for Memorial Healthcare System; Dr. Michael Hurlbert, assistant professor of philosophy and medical ethics and Broward County Mayor Marty Kiar.
