2 die in fiery car crash near Allapattah

Cars hit flammable substance after collision, authorities say

MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Two died in a car crash Thursday in an industrial neighborhood near Allapattah.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokeswoman Erica Benitez described the victims as an adult and a toddler. 

"There were people trapped, a lady still yelling," a firefighter at the scene said. 

The force of the collision sent the two cars into a field, Benitez said. They hit something flammable and there was a fire. 

Fire Rescue responded to Five Star Complete Auto Paint & Body, 2998 NW N. River Dr.

Authorities said two others were injured. Rescue took one to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. The other refused transport.
