WATCH: Raul Castro announces death of Fidel Castro

HAVANA, Cuba – Cuban President Raul Castro was the first to inform his countrymen of the death of his brother, Fidel Castro.

"My country of Cuba, with profound pain I have to inform you and our friends in America and around the world that today the 25th of November of 2016 at 10:29 in the evening our commander and leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro has died. Following the explicit desires of leader Fidel, his remains be cremated in the early hours of tomorrow, Saturday the 26th. The organizing commission of the funeral will provide our country detailed information about the organization of the post-humus tribute that we will give to the founder of the Cuban Revolution.
