Herrin said Leon now faces additional charges of burglary, criminal mischief and grand theft in connection with burglaries on Bonefish Lane West and Hawksbill Lane.

Herrin said detectives searched a car found on the property where Leon lives during his first arrest and found property that connected him to a burglary in Key West.

Detectives said Leon cooperated with them and with Key West police and helped authorities identify two additional suspects, a 16-year-old boy and Josue Forno, 18.

The 16-year-old, who is believed to have been involved in the Key West burglary and burglaries in Sugarloaf Key and Bay Point, is being held for 21 days at a juvenile facility in Miami.

Forno was arrested Dec. 13 on a drug possession charge. Herrin said Forno is also believed to have been involved in the two burglaries on Sugarloaf Key and Bay Point.
