Police release sketch of man sought in Miami attempted abductions

Man tries to lure girls inside vehicle in Model City neighborhood

MIAMI – Police are searching for a man in connection with a series of attempted abductions in Miami's Model City neighborhood.

Miami police Thursday released a sketch of the man believed to be responsible for the incidents.

The first incident was reported Aug. 31 while a girl was walking to school near Northwest 65th Street and Northwest Seventh Avenue.

Police said the man driving a dark four-door vehicle, possibly a Dodge Charger, tried to lure the girl into the vehicle, but she got away and called the police.

A similar incident was reported Nov. 10 near Northwest 12th Avenue and Northwest 67th Street.

Police said a girl was walking in the area when a man stepped out of a white, four-door SUV that was blocking traffic and yelled at her, "You going to school?" The girl ignored the man and continued walking, but he got into the SUV and followed her. When the man ordered her to get in the SUV, she ran away.

The most recent incident was reported Dec. 12 on Northwest 71st Street.

Police said a girl was walking when she saw a Cadillac Escalade parked on the sidewalk. As she started to walk around the SUV, the man said to her, "I've gotta take care of my girls. Get in the car."

After the girl refused, the man pulled out a gun and pointed it at her back, again ordering her into the Escalade.

Police said the girl got in the Escalade but was able to escape through a rear door.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call police at 305-603-6370.
