Woman charged in Broward County courthouse escape arrested again

Francine Mesadieu accused of trying to steal from Marshalls in Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A woman accused of helping a murder suspect escape from the Broward County courthouse earlier this year has been arrested again.

Francine Mesadieu, 31, was arrested Wednesday on charges of grand theft, resisting arrest without violence and probation violation.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies said Mesadieu tried to steal more than $400 worth of merchandise from a Marshalls store on South Federal Highway in Pompano Beach.

According to an arrest affidavit, Mesadieu walked out of the store with merchandise without paying for it. She was detained by security as she tried to get into a waiting vehicle.

Mesadieu was one of eight people arrested in connection with the July 15 escape of Dayonte Resiles from the Broward County courthouse. She was accused of giving Resiles a wig, color-changing contacts for his eyes and clothing to help him change his appearance.

Resiles was apprehended five days later at a Days Inn in West Palm Beach.
