Keys man arrested after roommate tells deputies about drugs in home

Henry Fayette shows deputies 13 plastic bags containing marijuana, deputies say


A Stock Island man was arrested on New Year’s Eve after getting into a fight with his roommate, deputies said.

The victim called the Monroe County Sheriff's Office at about 1:20 p.m. Saturday and told deputies that his roommate, Henry Fayette, had thrown him down during a dispute, deputies said.

There weren’t any visible injuries on the victim, deputies said. The victim also told deputies that  Fayette had marijuana at their house.

Deputies spoke to Fayette at his home.

When Fayette answered the door, deputies said they could smell marijuana inside the house and saw a bowl containing marijuana.

Fayette denied battering the victim and gave deputies consent to search the home, deputies said.

Fayette was cooperative during the search and showed deputies a backpack with 13 clear plastic bags containing 238 grams of the substance, deputies said.

Other drug paraphernalia was also found in the home, deputies said.

Fayette was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of more than 20  grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
