2 teens arrested after stealing Jeeps from Hollywood dealership

Deputies arrest suspects after vehicles found abandoned in Lantana

LANTANA, Fla. – Two teenagers accused of stealing a pair of Jeeps from a dealership in Hollywood were arrested Tuesday in Palm Beach County.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputies apprehended the suspects in Lantana, where they abandoned the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited-edition models.

Hollywood police spokeswoman Miranda Grossman said a security guard at the Hollywood Chrysler Jeep dealership spotted several vehicles being driven through the gate and heading north on U.S. Highway 441.

Grossman said officers spotted three vehicles matching the descriptions and followed them until Broward Sheriff's Office deputies took over, following the vehicles to the Palm Beach County line.

A PBSO helicopter continued to follow the vehicles on northbound Interstate 95.

PBSO spokeswoman Teri Barbera said the teen drivers exited on Lantana Road and abandoned the vehicles in a Costco parking lot. She said deputies soon arrested the boys, ages 14 and 15.
