All clear given after suspicious person spotted at Wilton Manors Elementary

Nearby roads reopen to traffic

WILTON MANORS, Fla. – Wilton Manors Elementary School was placed on lockdown Thursday morning after a person was spotted on the campus, but the all clear has since been given, authorities said.

Police initially said the person was not authorized to be on school property, but later learned that the suspicious person was actually a staff member.

The school was placed on lockdown while authorities initially searched for the subject.

Police closed nearby roads to traffic during the search, including the 100 to 300 blocks of Northeast 26th Street to the 100 to 300 blocks of 24th Street.

All roads have been reopened to traffic.
