Masked men deploy Taser, bind victim inside Hialeah apartment

Thieves leave with thousands of dollars' worth of jewelry, police say

HIALEAH, Fla. – Two masked men broke into a Hialeah home early Friday and surprised a 27-year-old man who was sleeping inside, authorities said.

The home invasion was reported about 2 a.m. at an apartment in the 5400  block of West 24th Avenue.

Hialeah police Sgt. Carl Zogby said the robbers deployed a Taser on the victim and bound his hands and feet in nylon tie straps.

The victim said the men ransacked his home and stole several thousand dollars' worth of jewelry.

Zogby said the victim was home alone at the time and was not seriously injured.
