3 teens shot in Miami Gardens remain hospitalized

Detectives search for gunman who fled in white SUV

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Relatives said the teenage boys who were shot in Miami Gardens on Friday afternoon remained hospitalized on Saturday. One of the victims is 14 and the other two are 15-years-old Carol City Senior High School students.

Detectives were looking for the shooter who witnesses said aimed at the teens near 3505 NW 188 St., and fled in a white sports utility vehicle with dark tinted windows.

At Joe DiMaggio's Children Hospital, a woman related to one of the teens had a message for reporters: "Tell people to stop killing people. That's what you do. Tell them to stop it!"

While the teenagers were in the hospital, there was another shooting at Toussaint L'Overture Elementary School in Miami's Little Haiti on Friday afternoon.

Earlier that day, there was also a shooting with a pellet gun near Brownsville Middle School. The shooter shattered the window of a van with students from Brownsville Middle and three elementary schools.

Detectives were asking anyone with information about any of the incidents to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
