Motorcyclist killed in crash going more than double speed limit in North Lauderdale

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A motorcyclist was killed Saturday after he slammed into a car while traveling more than double the speed limit, deputies said.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, Eric Williams, 45, of Fort Lauderdale, was driving west on McNab Road, traveling about 90 mph in a 45 mph zone, when Jhenelle Walters, 18, turned onto McNab from Southwest 83rd Avenue.

Deputies said Williams' motorcycle struck the right front side of Walters' four-door Toyota Corolla.

Williams was ejected from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle caught fire after the impact.

Deputies said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
