FALLS CHURCH, Va. – A hungry raccoon just looking for something to eat was instead taken on an unexpected journey on the back of a garbage truck.
The wayward raccoon was spotted holding on to the ladder on the back of a garbage truck rolling through Virginia neighborhoods just outside Washington, DC.
ARLNow.com reports Helena B. Evich was the first to notice the little guy and girl and immediately posted a picture on Twitter.
Evich called the truck company to alert them to the uninvited passenger, but by the time word got to the driver, the raccoon had already been taken 6 miles from home.
The raccoon was safely rescued from the back of the truck by the animal control team of the local police department.
