Apparent road rage shooting victim returns home to recover

Miami-Dade detectives search for gunman

MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – A man who was shot in the face Friday while driving a delivery truck got to leave the hospital Saturday and return home to recover.

Eli Perez, who works for  Two Men And A Truck, was shot in a possible road-rage incident in Southwest Miami-Dade, county police said.

"It's a weird feeling," Perez said. "I cannot explain it. It is just a weird feeling."

The 46-year-old still has a bullet lodged inside his head.

"The ear," Perez said. "He pierced my ear and it went through."

Two of Perez's co-workers witnessed the shooting.

They said that a driver blew through a stop sign and nearly ran them off the road.

"He's flipping us off and all that," an employee said. "All we did was beep the horn at him and we tried to keep going, but he followed us."

Moments later the shooting happened.

"As we were coming through the next stop sign he was parked at, he just aimed and shot at the window and shot my friend," an employee said.

Detectives were asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
