Opa-locka resident says sewer outside her home keeps backing up

Sabrina James says city isn't doing enough to fix issue

OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – An Opa-locka resident said she is fed up that a sewer outside her home keeps backing up.

Sabrina James told Local 10 News that dirty and smelly water surrounds her home at Northwest 132nd Street and 28th Avenue.

James said city workers come by and try to clean it up, but the water is still there and no one seems to be working on the problem.

"It's been like this all weekend," James said. "The water has been like this all weekend -- the water all in my yard, people being splashed by it. It smells with the raw sewage and everything."

Local 10 News reporter Neki Mohan attempted to contact officials with the city of Opa-locka but has yet to hear back.
