Worker falls 4 floors at downtown Miami construction site

Man located on 35th floor of building, taken to hospital

MIAMI – A worker fell three to four floors down a shaft Tuesday morning at a downtown Miami construction site, Miami Department of Fire-Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said.

Rescuers located the man on the 35th floor of the building at 300 SE Third Street near Biscayne Boulevard.

Sky 10 was flying above the construction site as paramedics loaded the man onto a stretcher and took him to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Carroll said the man was in extreme pain but was conscious and talking to paramedics. 

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating what caused the accident.
