Pembroke Pines man accused of stabbing stepson

John Negron, 68, faces attempted murder charge

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A Pembroke Pines man is accused of stabbing his adult stepson multiple times in the neck, chest, stomach and back. 

John Negron, 68, faces a charge of attempted murder.

Pembroke Pines police they received a call at about 8:15 p.m. Thursday from a man, stating that his stepson had attacked him.

After further investigation, police said they learned that Negron stabbed his stepson during a dispute inside a home on Southwest 72nd Avenue near Southwest Sixth Street.

The victim ran across the street to the Pembroke Pines fire station for help. Police said he was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was undergoing surgery.

Negron was arrested at his home and taken to the main Broward County jail.
